  1. I loved seeing her growing up. What a classy lady! Will miss her smile, laugh, and great voice.

  2. I have lost another hero. Eva Mae influenced my piano playing…and that of COUNTLESS other folks…as much as anyone who ever lived. Her open-handed style is still being imitated today. I loved her dearly, and remember well her glory days. When she played “Keep on the Firing Line”, you could almost see the smoke come out of the piano. This precious one is now at Home with her son, Pierce, who died young in a plane crash, with Urias and Alphus, her parents, and all the others who preceded her…and, most of all, the Lord Jesus. I used to love to hear her sing “When I Make My Last Move”. Well, sweet Eva Mae…you’ve made it. What a legacy she left behind. My deepest sympathies to her family and friends and all the fans who will miss her. Dianne.

  3. My favorite times while traveling the gospel circuit, were those special moments we shared with Eva Mae. What a true champion for the Lord!! Ever an encourager, Eva Mae was never too busy to give advice to the younger folks in the business. Heaven is a much sweeter place now that she is among their number. We will miss your laughter and your spirit, Eva Mae.

It saddens my heart to learn of Eva Mae's passing. The world has lost a true ledgend, especially here in the south. Her recordings are timeless and will live on to remind us of her God given talents that she used for the Lord for her entire life.

  5. Eva Mae LeFevre was in the first concert I ever attended. I grew up watching her at the Grand Ole Gospel Reunion for many years. The LeFevres records were simply wonderful...they were simplistic, yet their distinctive harmonies and diversified talents were unequaled. I love the LeFevres and I will miss Eva Mae. There will be a hole in our business without her. Blessings and condolences to the LeFevre family as they mourn their loss.

I grew knowing them as Aunt Eva Mae and Uncle Urias. They were close family friends and frequent fishing buddies. Many times they sang at our church and told stories of the days when my parents and the LeFevres were young married couples and the trials of starting out in their various ministries. She was one of my favorite people and I think of her often, although I had lost contact with her when my mother passed away. I will miss her greatly.

  7. When I was eight years old I was in love with Eva Mae. I spent most of my young teen age years trying to play like her . Key word "trying". I got to know her when I began playing for the Nelons. I loved her playing , I loved her singing, and I loved to hear her talk and laugh. She truly was an inspiration to me and I will miss her deeply. My prayers and sympathy go out to her family.

  8. The music industry and the world has lost a legend and a lady. We worked with Eva Mae last year on a video that showcased her life and incredible career. During one of the interview segments when asked about what Heaven meant to her at this point in her life, she talked about her husband and children that had already gone on to meet the Lord and how that made heaven even more precious to her. You could see the longing in her eyes. My heart breaks for the entire LeFevre family and Mark Fuller who I'm sure helped to add many joyous years to her life by helping her keep singing and doing what she loved.

  9. I have been an avid fan of Eva Mae LeFevre for many years- despite living in Wales in the UK. She was such an inspiration and a breath of fresh air to all that came in contact with her, more than she ever knew I'm sure. Despite all her pain and grief in life, she never lost that sparkle in her eye and that contagious smile and laugh. She remained strong and faithful until the end.

Now we have lost a treasure here on earth, oh my, but what a heavenly gain- what singing there must be in Heaven this day...

Although I never had the opportunity of meeting Eva Mae in person, I look forward to the day when I shall meet her and hear her sing in person.

    Her legacy will live on.

  10. One of my earliest memories is of seeing Eva Mae on stage playing the piano and singing at the old city auditorium in my hometown of Jackson, MS. She was kind, gentle natured, playful, pampered, had a streak of mischief and was most sincere. Her nature was to accept and forgive. And, oh, that silky-smooth speaking and singing voice made you want to lean in and listen more closely.
Her daughter, Andrea, and my mother were best friends. Those two were inseparable soul sisters. Not many days passed that they didn't talk on the phone, sharing all the ups and downs of one anothers' lives. Eva Mae and my mother loved Andrea deeply and shared their grieving over her passing in a way others might not understand. Eva Mae was family to us and will be missed greatly. My condolences to angel-on-earth Brenda (THANK YOU for everything you did for Eva Mae through the years), Mylon, Maurice and the rest of her family.
Margie's words: "We love you, Eva Mae!".

  11. My sympathy to the family. I got to know Eva Mae through the homecoming videos. She was a kind loving lady. I am going to miss calling her to see how she was doing. She had been praying for me with my battle of cancer, and her prayers were heard because I was healed of pancreatitic cancer 36 hours after surgery. My friend Norma Crews wife of the late Bob Crews of the Harmoneers was the one that called me of her death. She is going to be missed by all, but I will miss her laugh, prayers and her friendship most of all. Mylon, Bob Crews came to my church and sang Without Him before I got up to give the message in church 10 months before he passed away. Bob thought alot of this family. Again, my prayers go out to the family. In His Name, Bobi Moler

  12. I heard Eva Mae and the Lefevers for the first time 42 years ago. Her kind and gracious spirit was an attraction for me then and remained so for the rest of her life. She was undoubtedly one of the most wonderful people I ever met and I am blessed to have been able to hear her many sing many times. I will miss her and her sweet smile. But, one day I will see her again on the other side when all God's saints gather round the throne.

  13. I remember meeting Eva Mae while working in broadcasting at WTJH radio in East Point GA in 1980. She accompanied her Father to the station for a broadcast one afternoon. She was in person as she was on the air, a gratious and warm lady. I will miss her warmth and class.

Eva Mae wasn't just family she was a friend! We love her dearly and are sad that she has passed but we know she is in a better place. When I was 12 and starting to sing she let me stay with her for 10 days and took me to have voice lessons with Leroy Abernathy. She was always so kind to me and my family. The last visit I had with her, I went to visit her in the hospital and then before that my Dad took her out to dinner for her 90th birthday. We had such a woderful time. We laughed and recalled several memories that night. I will never forget that laugh!!!

  15. She was the greatest! I first heard her recordings as a little boy in my grandmother's living room--I wore out "Delivered From the Hands of Pharoah"-- and she was a tremendous influence on my playing. I finally had the priviledge of meeting her after a concert in Valdosta a couple of years ago. I remember taking all of my Lefevre albums for her to sign. It was one of the greatest highlights of my life to meet her, and I as knelt in front of that great big chair she was sitting in, I felt the sweetness of heaven itself in her smile and gracious spirit. Thank God for the life and ministry of Eva Mae Lefevre!

  16. Mortal words cannot describe the impact that Eva Mae and the LeFevres have had on gospel music and more importantly, the lives that have learned more about Jesus through its message. Eva Mae's love for all of us fans, her dedication to her Saviour and that laugh will forever be in the hearts of those of us who met her or shared enjoyed her music. As she sang to us countess times....Well done my child...Well done! Praise be to God and let the shoutin' in heaven never end!

  17. On behalf of the family of the late Pastor C.E. Cates and Sis. Cates and Christian Fellowship Church-Atlanta, let me say to the family how saddened we were to learn of Eva Maes passing. There was a special friendship between our family and her and the LeFevre's. For many years this group and then she alone many times graced our stage with an element of class like no other. She came to Pastor Cates retirement service 2007 and we so enjoyed her joy and 'that laugh' and her songs. Sing and play on Eva. Now you are seeing the Prettiest Flowers. The Cates Family

  18. Aunt Eva Mae was such an incredible inspiration to all of us! Being the "California girl" - I didn't live close enough to see her as often as I would have loved to, but at every family reunion and every Summer trip to Tennessee, I looked so forward to being with the whole LeFevre gang. No matter where we were, someone would end up pulling out a guitar or finding a piano for us to gather around and sing with at some point! Uncle Alphus and Aunt Eva Mae were usually the instigators.

Music runs in our blood - and watching her use her gifts with such passion to glorify the Lord so exhuberantly was amazing!

Until we meet again around the piano inside those pearly gates...

I will always cherish the memories of Eva Mae. In her later years she would show up at concerts that was going on in our area. She would always sing when you asked her to if someone could play piano for her. She was at several concerts which I promoted. I remember the night in 1007 when we had The Dove Brothers and she was there. Jerry couldn't play for her but faithful Charlie was there and he played for her. On another occasion with Triumphant Qt. Jeff Stice played for her. She didn't know the words to the song Jeff wanted her to sing so Jeff just gave her the Old Red Back Book and Eric held it for her to see the words.
God Bless the Family and Mark Fuller.
Eva Mae you will be missed but never forgotten.

She shared some of her life memories with me, which in a way, made me feel a part of. She was a rare gem... Beautiful inside and outside! I will miss her. My sincere sympathy to the family. 25. I met Eva Mae in Marietta at Calvary Baptist Church where she often sang. I was visiting and met her after the service. We found we shared the same birthday, as well as the same Savior. What an encouraging lady she was for me, giving me a few personal words of wisdom from her long walk with the Lord. I feel I was given an honor to meet her in person and will surely hug her neck when I get Home. She had a beautiful life, blessing many.

  28. Southern Gospel's loss is Heaven's Gain - indeed!!! Another Saint has gone Home!!! My family ate breakfast and got ready for Sunday School and Church to the music of The LeFevers every Sunday Morning as I was growing up in Middle Georgia. I loved it!!! Later, my husband and our family were involved at Mt. Paran Central (it was the ONLY one then) and had the privilege of knowing Eva Mae and also her father Brother Whittington. Then much later we enjoyed her humor and gifted voice through the Gaither Homecoming Concerts and Videos. What a Matriarch! My life is richer and blessed by her faith, musical gifts, and her infectious smile and laugh! "When All God's Singers Get Home".
    Blessings to all the family!

My Dad and Mom were saved at her father, Bro. Whittington's church in East Point, Ga in the early 50's and I was blessed to be able to sit on the piano bench as a young girl beside this lovely lady. I always wanted to play like her. She was beautiful and had such a sweet countenance, "Meet You In The Morning".

  32. I loved Eva Mae, and she loved me... even if she did often confuse me with Darien Southerland or Tony Peace. (That was always her little inside joke with me. She just LOVED to call me by the wrong name in a crowd.) At first, she'd call me Darien. Then, she'd laugh and say "Aw, Tony, you know I'm just " joshin' " with you. I know who you are..." After the crowd left, she always said, "Charlie, I hope that you didn't mind if had some fun with you tonight." It was always a privilege to play piano for her to sing whenever my buddy Mark wasn't around - or the bass guitar when he was! I can't help but feel that we'll see her again VERY soon! With Love, Dar.. uh, Ton..er, I mean... CHARLIE...

  34. It thrills my heart to know that RIGHT NOW in Heaven there is one of the most majestic choirs that Heaven has ever seen! So many legends gone there now. I first came to know Eva Mae when my sister Patricia Cates Moore began singing with the Lefevre's in the 60's and married Ralph Moore (the bus driver for the Lefevre's). I believe that Patricia was the first female other than Eva Mae to sing with them. Many miles and years have come and gone since then. I have always been in awe of Eva Mae's talent and love for Southern Gospel Music! And of course, Mark Fuller has been their BIGGEST FAN since I can remember. I am so glad that he was able to pursue and achieve his dream. He plays just like Eva Mae! The legend lives on........ I imagine that Eva Mae and Patricia may just be singing "The Prettiest FLowers for my dad right now! Love to all of the family from Connie Cates!

  36. So sorry to hear of Miss Eva Mae's passing. I knew her through my years of working with her son Mylon and the last I spoke to him, she was fine....she definitely had an impact on her family and through them, basically millions of others through their music and depth of character. But basically she was 'momma' to a precious few, loved by her family and through them many more.

  39. When I began dating my husband in the early 60's one of our first dates was to the Atlanta All Night Singing at the City Auditorium. Naturally the LeFevre's were on the bill. I thought she was the best piano player I had ever heard. Now 40 years later I have plenty of the Gaither videios left to still enjoy not only her playing but also that wonderful also voice. She had the glow of Christ on her face everytime I saw her. I know she is delighted to be home at last.

  43. Eva Mae was one of a kind! I had the pleasure of booking her several times, and she was always first-class and elegant. My fondest memory of her was in Orlando, FL where she chided James Blackwood on stage and in front of about a thousand people, and told him he better slow down. She had the gift of saying what she wanted to say, regardless of where she was and what was going on. (I am sure J.D. is waiting to talk to her in heaven!) The Lefevre and Whittington family has had a wonderful legacy and heritage in both Gospel Music and the Church of God. Eva Mae left the world a better place, and us many memories.

  50. I actually met Eva Mae at a Mark Lowry concert in Atlanta. It ended up that I sat next to her during the concert. During the intermission there were fans all around her, now I must say that anyone in the audience could have been my or my wifes parents, we were the youngest people there, and I'm all of 30. I looked very different from all the others with my piercings and tattoos, I even remember I had on a shirt that said "Jesus loves me and my tattoos", Eva commented on my shirt and at one point when her fans surrounded her leaned over to me and asked if she could say that I was her bodyguard, I was quick to respond, "Yes mam, you sure can!" She was glowing all night, I had always listened to Mylon but never dreamed I'd meet his mom. I had to tell my parents, as I knew they would remember her singing. I only knew her for a little over 2 hours, but she left an impression on me that I will never forget. I'm glad your home Eva Mae! I'll see you soon!

  53. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. While it is a terrible loss for all of us I know that she is enjoying her reunion and meeting, face to face, the one she served so faithfully. I grew up listening to Southern Gospel Music. I bought the first Gaither Homecoming Video for my grandmother who was a victim of Alzhimer's Disease. As she watched Ms. Eva Mae play on that video she looked at me and said "sometimes we are the only bible people ever read". When I agreed with her she said "a lot of people have read the bible through Eva Mae". Several years later I had the great pleasure of meeting this great lady myself. She came to my church on two different occasions to perform. She was indeed living proof of the joy that comes from a life filled with service to God. I can see the smile on her face when she heard the words "Well done my good and faithful servent".

  54. As a child, I had the "Songs of Happiness" by the LeFevres in my home. I listened to it over and over and over again. This is when my love for the LeFevres began. I remember seeing them in person for the first time in July 1974 when they had just introduced Stepping On the Clouds. After that, I brought every LeFevre album before and after that I could get, spending my allowance to buy a new LeFevre record. Eva Mae's homegoing certainly seems like the end of an era, but I'm glad now she is reunited with Urias, Uncle Alf, Pierce, Andrea, Jimmy, Big Rex and Little Rex, and they're singing again. I'm so glad the LeFevres were and still are a great blessing in my life.

My mother, Bettye Cates and me attended the service yesterday and it was great! having been around church for nearly 47 years as a pastors son, I've been to many services and that was the way to do. We both enjoyed every part of it and seeing so many friends that we have met over the years. And might I add, Mark Fuller brought the house down when he, as only he can do, played the piano 'Eva Mae' style. He has been a great friend to the Cates Family as well as such a close friend and help to Eva Mae. Maurice, Mylon Brenda and family, you made Momma proud. What class. Sam Cates

  66. I was lucky enough to have seen Eva Mae and the Lefevre's in concert on a number of occasions from the mid 1960's onward.

It is almost impossible to put into words the impact this talented lady has had with her ministry.

Thru the many heartaches in her life, her beacon still shone through with such grace.

I am thankful our paths crossed

  67. I am so saddened to learn of the passing of Eva Mae. But what blessed memories and tributes I've read here tonight. I was at the little church in Flowery Branch for her 90th birthday celebration and dinner where she so graciously signed a copy of the same picture displayed on this memorial site for a dear friend who lost her battle with cancer just a few weeks later. And any who heard her laughing with Bill Gaither at the next concert at Gwinnett Arena about fans who mess up her hair....that was me as I hugged her and told her how she'd blessed my life with her music, voice and laughter. I can't wait for the beautiful day we'll all enjoy her again on the magnificent heavenly shores!

  69. Its times like these I look back and think about things. Eva Mae was a person of faith; you could tell it from a distance; shes where she worked all of her life to be; and Praise God; she'll never age another day. Her voice has been returned to that silky smooth melodic state it was so many years ago; her hands have been freed from the crippling effects of arthritis. Im guessing even now the reunited members of the LeFevre Quartet are playing "Just A Little While"

    Oh how sweet that promise!

  70. My children was raised(60's) listening to Eva Mae every Sunday morning on TV. She looked so much like their grandmother and played the piano exactly the same as she.
When Eva Mae came on they would come running saying, "mommy, mamaw is playing and singing on TV". They still today, connect her with their grandmother.
The Gospel Music industry has lost a precious wonderful lady.

  72. I first came to know of the LeFevres when I was about 10 years old from TV and from their first two LPs. I had already begun piano lessons but when I heard Eva Mae play I was hooked. My aunt gave me the records and I worked and worked at it until I could play the songs and turnarounds note for note. Rex Foster ("Little Rex") and I used to follow the LeFevres all over the southeast. I was simply entranced. When time came to go to college, I chose a school in Atlanta. I lived with Eva Mae and Urias for a year and got to know all their family well. I know I wore her out when they came home from "the road" because I wanted her to play the piano but she wanted to rest, eat, sleep, and (of course) shop. This is a bittersweet remembrance and I hope the family doesn't mind my telling it: Urias used to be onto Eva Mae all the time about her weight. She LOVED Mr John's chocolate ice cream. Her weight didn't seem to bother her as much as it did Urias (who took handsful of vitamins daily). When she gained a few pounds, it was another excuse to shop. I wonder what Issacson's in Atlanta has done since they lost her business. Anyway - Urias passed away at an earlier age and Eva Mae just kept on ticking till 91. I have so many happy memories of my time with them. We lost touch over the years but I never lost my love and respect for Eva Mae. She was my first major influence. To Mylon and Meurice (and stop teasing me Meurice): Thank you for sharing your precious Mother with all of us. To Mark Fuller: Thank you for helping her to keep doing what she loved to do and what she felt was her calling. Eva Mae may be gone from this earth but she will live forever in my heart.

  73. I grew up listening to Eva Mae and the LeFevres on a Jesup, Georgia radio station. I can recall thinking that one day I want to sing gospel music like that and play like Eva Mae. I did sing gospel music in a family group, and one of the greatest thrills of my life was to share the stage several times with Eva Mae. As to playing like her, I have never achieved that and probably never will. She was truly an inspiration to me and will be greatly missed. My sympathies go out to her wonderful family and friends.

  74. Sorry to hear we have lost another great. I sent her a card when her daughter died and received a nice letter back and then met her and talked with her at a concert in Nashville, what a great lady. She remembered the card and I got an autographed picture. We've lost most all of our greats now. She will be truly missed.

  75. Eva Mae was the bomb! She probably had the best alto voice I've ever heard. Every time I saw her on a Gaither video it was obvious how much she loved the Lord and with her testimony brought many others to know Him too! My thoughts and prayers are with you. She is now "Singing with the Saints" and reunited with her loved ones. Praise God! Philip Shaw

I remember later after she married and the lefever trio was formed when we had the General assembly and they sang the POWER OF GOD WOULD FALL AND OH HOW SWEET THE ANNOINTING WAS.Even though I was just a child I looked forward to those days.I still am on the firing line for Christ and I can still hear her playing KEEP ON THE FIRING LINE.May God comfort each one of you and keep you in his care. SOON WE WILL ALL HAVE THAT REUNION DAY.

  78. I met this sweet lady a few years ago in Birmingham, Alabama when the Gaither group came to sing. She was every bit as sweet as she seems on TV. I loved meeting her as did my daughter who shares my love for Southern Gospel Music. She made us feel like we were her special friends as we talked and took pictures. What a wonderful Christian lady she was and will always be remembered and charished.

  80. I am a 61 year old young man now. I grew up in Alabama and was saved in my early teens. One of the fondest memories of those teen years was watching and listening to the LeFevres on radio and Television. The LeFevres were always my favorite group. I loved watching the Gospel Singing Caravan before heading off to church. What a blessing it was. I was privileged to meet the LeFevre group once by accident in the 1960's at a restaurant in Oxford, Ala. Years later, in 1998 I traveled to Atlanta to the Gaither Homecoming and was priviledged to spend some time with Eva Mae and get some autographs from her at the artists event the day before the concert. Enjoyed talking to Mark Fuller also. Also got to spend some quality time that day talking to Jimmy Jones and his wife. Eva Mae's life and testimony have been a great source of comfort to me as I have gone through life. May God bless her family. I thank God for Eva Mae and the LeFevres!

  82. I had the pleasure of meeting the LaFevre family through a friend who was a niece of Eva Mae's husband in the little town of Smithville, Tennessee when I was a child. At 62 I still enjoy listening to those old albums of theirs. She was a remarkable lady who will be missed by anyone who appreciates Southern Gospel Music. My sympathy to the family.

  84. Recently I compiled a scrapbook for my granddaughter and included in it my memories of how our family had followed The LeFevres all over Tennessee when I was a young girl. I recalled to her how much we loved to hear and watch Eva Mae play the piano, and told her how I got goose bumps once when Mylon walked into an empty auditorium and began to sing as he walked down the aisle. He was probably 14 or 15 and both my sisters and I wouldn't have traded the experience of meeting and talking with him for anything. It was a coincidence that I had been writing about how much your family meant to mine and then discovered this sad news. My granddaughter will have a simple scrapbook to learn about her great-grandparents but yours will have a legend to learn.

  88. truly loved this lady, she was a true example of a christian woman. It was ladies like her and Vestal and Naomi Sego that truly represented christian love. She was a class act. It is sad today that you cannot tell some of the other lady gospel singers from the world with all their makeup and jewelry. Too bad that Eva Mae is gone, I really believe she was a praying woman and America will sadly miss.

  89. I did not know of her passing until today. I have certainly enjoyed reading all of the kind words and tributes from others listed above. I know she was a special lady to so many. My cherished Aunt Rachel was a good friend of hers and spoke of her all the time. She had known her for years and was also a great piano player and preacher's wife. I am sure that my Aunt and her are having a good musical time in Heaven!

  90. Just heard of Eva Maes graduation to Heaven. Years ago, I couldn't wait to go hear the LeFevres downtown in Grand Rapids, Mi. They were my favorite. Eva influenced my spiritual life by her witness and I'll never forget, one night at a concert, a man in the audience, had a heart attack and Eva Mae went out to pray with him til the ambulance came, to be sure he was right with the Lord.I'm saved today, partly from her testimony. I can hear her now singing " I must tell Jesus", only she is doing that in person. My sympathy to you all.

  91. Eva Mae was a True Christian Woman and I loved her dearly. Her funeral Service was very fitting and I'm so thankful my wife and I got to be there. I've lost a friend and a great pioneer in Gospel Music. Mama Eva Mae had class and her Piano style was one of a kind. I'm 51 and knew her 41 years and over 20 of those years I've always played the Lefevres music on my radio program. God Bless her if we had more Christians lke her in the world it would be a better place to live. Her music will live On!!!!

  92. I remember when Urias retired and Eva Mae remained on the road singing. We were fortunate to have them come by for a day of fishing and eating some good South Georgia BBQ. Urias had a brand new red Cadillace with black and white plaid seat covers and he truly adored the ground that his "queen" walked on, his beloved Eva Mae. They truly paved the way for today's artists and the love they shared for one another has grown even stronger. God bless you, Eva Mae, Urias and Uncle Alph.

passed away. We didn't loose her, we know where she is. What a reunion! With her immediate family and some of mine. Her sister
Ruth Williams and Ralph, my wife Barbara Jean
Williams Morris, Dot and Carl Cutrell, Malcolm and Nancy Williams and E. W. Williams, Daisy Pearl Williams. I used to listen to Eva Mae play and then go to the piano and try to "copy" her style. Wonderful
Lady. My prayers are with the family.

  94. I was so sorry to hear that Eva Mae passed away. My condolences go out to Her entire family circle at this very difficult time.
I receive a copy of the "Southern Gospel Sourcebook" EVERY year and wanted to phone some of my favorite singing stars and ask for their autograph. Most of the stars have their business office listed. I was sure surprised when I phoned Eva Mae last year and she answered the phone. It was Her home address which proves how much she loved Her fans and wanted to talk to them. We had a lovely chat for almost half an hour. She is a lovely lady and I will NEVER forget the time she took to talk to me and the beautiful autographed photo I received.
Good-bye Eva Mae. We will surely miss you.

  95. I grew up loving Eva Mae's piano styling along with her classy alto voice. My dream was to play for The LeFevres when I grew up. However, I was born in 1961 and by the time I graduated from High School in 1979 Eva Mae had retired from The LeFevres and the group had changed to the Rex Nelon Singers. I moved to Atlanta at the age of 18 in 1979. I became close friends with Eva Mae. In 1998, I started playing piano for Eva Mae on all her dates up until her death this past May.
I was privileged to spend much time with Eva Mae. Eva Mae was like my second Mom/Grandmother. I have so many stories running through my mind right now. One of these days I will have to share stories with everyone interested.

I haven't posted any comments on here since Eva Mae passed away on May 18th. I told someone the other day that the longer Eva Mae has been gone, the more I miss her. There are many times I would like to pick up the phone and call her to tell her little things.

I would like to follow up on Heather's comments concerning Eva Mae loving her fans. She did. She prided herself in saying that she had never had an unlisted telephone number.

Eva Mae, I wonder what you're doing right now? Miss you.

    Always,

  99. I grew up on Southern Gospel music and love it still at
age 52. I remember attending all night sings in Waycross GA.
I always thought Mrs. Eva Mae was a beautiful and gracious lady.
Then one year she was the entertainment for our church's Valentine
banquet. My mother & grandmother were able to attend as well. My
mother commented that Eva Mae looked as young as she did 30
something years earlier. Eva laughed and said, "Thank God and
Mary Kay!" I fell more in love with her. I just had to write her a
note thanking her for bringing such a large dose of the love of God
that night. I was thrilled to receive a written reply in Eva's own
hand writing. It is now my dear treasure. Thanks be to God for
Eva Mae's life and victorious homecoming!

  106. My grandmother Elizabeth Baker Moss played with Eva Mae as a child in Ware Shoals, SC. They both went on to spend their lives serving God to the very end. My Grandmother married a man that was to become a Church of God preacher (Rev. B.P. Moss). He always pastored small country churches with my grandmother playing the piano and organ. I always loved to hear her play "Prettiest Flowers", never heard it by Eva Mae until years later. They are all now enjoying those beautiful flowers together and I miss them so very much.
